Next week—Tuesday, November 14 to be precise—my next novel, Make Up Test: A Rom-Com Winter Tale, meets the world for the first time.
This is my fourth book launch and I have to tell you, it never, ever gets old. I’m every bit as excited when my first, Raven Wakes The World: A Winter Tale, was released four years ago, and I fully expect to be at least as excited in January when Blackthorne Faire, the first of my epic novels, launches.
Make Up Test launches with a reading and a signing at Eagle Eye Book Shop here in the Atlanta/Decatur area. The illustrator, my beloved wife Carol Bales, will be there as well. If you can make it, please do. It would mean the world to both of us. I’d also be grateful if you would help me spread the word. Like all authors, I depend upon word of mouth.
Special Limited and Numbered Edition
Our publisher, The Story Plant, is doing something special with this release, and many of their other releases going forward. We’re publishing a special, limited and numbered special edition that will only be available at the signing. The trade edition, along with the ebook and the audiobook, launches a couple of weeks later, and will be available wherever fine books are sold. If you’re too far away to make the signing and would like one of the Special Limited Edition copies, no worries: Eagle Eye ships for free, but you might want to order early.
Speaking of the audio book, I’ve just heard it, and the narrator did a terrific job. I’m just thrilled.
Please Come!
Writing a book is really hard. It’s tough work, it’s lonely, and there’s a whole, whole lot of typing involved—not to mention all the hours staring at the blank page on my screen until drops of blood appear on my forehead. Every time I have one of these launch parties, and get to see my novel on a bookstore’s shelves, the excitement takes me again and I remember why it’s absolutely worth all the work.
Please come if you can, and please share and help me spread the word. It means more to me than you’ll ever know.
I really can’t wait to share Make Up Test with you.
Update!
My publisher, Lou Aronica (who acquired five consecutive Hugo and Nebula award winners and launched the Star Wars extended universe), will be at the signing. This will be a terrific opportunity to learn about writing, publishing, and more … and maybe even pitch your own work to one of the very best in the business.
